JAMMU: Reacting sharply on separatists’ demand of curtailing Amarnath Yatra, Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS) on Sunday urged Governor N.N Vohra to start annual Amarnath Yatra as per Hindu ritual on Jyestha Purnima and to culminate the same on Shravan Purnima.
Speaking to media persons, State President HSS Vikrant Kapoor said, “Any attempt to curtail the duration of Amarnath Yatra under the influence of anti-national elements will hurt the sentiments of the Yatris.”
Vikrant urged the Governor to start the Annual Amarnath Yatra as per the ritual on Jyestha Purnima by performing Pratham Poojan. He said that if the government under any circumstances will fail to perform the Pratham Poojan then HSS will send the volunteers from across India to carry out Pratham Poojan.
Meanwhile, HSS constituted its new wing at Purkhoo Camp, Jammu by nominating Vishal Sharma as President and Rohit Shawany as Vice President.
Others who were nominated included Rohit Sharma as General Secretary, Arun Singh and Goutam Sharma as Secretaries, Navjeet Kumar as Cashier, Krishan Kumar and Sat Pal Kumar as Joint Secretaries and Rajiv Sethi as member.
While, Sheetal Devi was nominated as President of the Women Wing of Purkhoo Camp, Sonu Sharma as Vice President and Kamlesh Gavi as General Secretary.
On the occasion, scores of youth joined the organisation. National President HSS, Dimpy Kohli and General Secretary, G.I Singh while welcoming the new entrants hoped that they will work for flourishing and disseminating the principles of the organisation.
Others who were present include Vinay Gupta Youth State President, Rajan Gupta Senior Vice President, Rohit Singh Bhau Senior Vice President (Youth), Ajay Khajuria Vice President (Youth), Jagdish Singh Bindu Joint Secretary, Himashu Gupta, Vikas Patel State Secretary and Deepak Kumar.
