Star Club Thanpal enters semifinals of Police T20

REASI: Star India Cricket Club Thanpal entered into the semifinals of the ongoing Police T20 Cricket Tournament being organised by District Police Reasi under Civic Action Programme at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Earlier in the quarterfinal played today, Star India Cricket Club Thanpal defeated Zorawar Cricket Club (ZCC) Reasi by 39 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, Star India Club scored 134 runs for the loss of four wickets in 15 overs. Bawa was the top scorer with 36 runs off 22 balls while Babby made 33 off 24 balls and Vikas added 16 off nine balls to the total. For ZCC Reasi, Ankush captured two wickets, while Abhishek claimed one. In reply, ZCC Reasi failed to chase the target and was bowled out for a meager total of 85 runs in 11 overs, thus lost the match by 39 runs. Anil was highest scorer with unbeaten 19 runs followed by Gourav and Abhishek, who contributed 15 and seven runs respectively. Vijaypal Singh was the successful bowler who scalped four important wickets for Star India Club, while Sunny and Bawa shared one each. For his best bowling performance, Vijaypal Singh was declared Man of the Match.
In another match, National Cricket Club (NCC) defeated Saraswati Cricket Club by won by 41 runs.
NCC batting first, made 131 runs in the stipulated 15 overs, losing THREE wickets in the process. Balbir (27 off 28 balls), Pankaj (23 off16 balls) and Aman (22 off 18 balls) were the main scorers. For Saraswati Club, Kapil, Ashok and Ashish picked one wicket each. In reply, Saraswati Club was bundled out for a paltry total of 90 runs in 14 overs, thus lost the match by 41 runs. Kapil was top scorer with 35 runs off 15 balls while Vikas and Amit made seven and five runs respectively.
Aman scalped three wickets for NCC while Balbir grabbed two and Dev Karan Singh claimed one. Aman of NCC was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round display.
The match was officiated by Vishwajeet and Vikas as Umpires, while Aman maintained the scoreboard.
