JAMMU: Reacting to the STATE TIMES exclusive report, a joint team of eight doctors from AIIMS Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Katra, ASCOMS Jammu and Military Hospital Jammu on late Thursday evening visited Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to review condition and treatment procedure adopted for Dangri terror attack victims admitted in GMC Jammu.
Pertinent to mention that earlier in morning, the attendants assembled and lodged complaint about poor management in hospital and sought LG Manoj Sinha’s intervention.
Before the joint team’s arrival, Principal GMC Jammu along with a team of doctors visited Dangri attack victims admitted in GMC Hospital, Jammu and their attendants on watching their protest on STATE TIMES portal . Moreover, J&K BJP Chief Ravinder Raina also rushed to GMC hospital to resolve the issues faced by patients and their attendants.
As per details, one Ritik Sharma, an attendant of a critically injured namely Prince Sharma , who is presently in GMC’s ICU, alleged that condition of patient is worsening due to lack of proper care by doctors, medical assistants and nursing staff.
While speaking to STATE TIMES, Sharma said that LG Manoj Sinha gave clear instructions that patients should be fully taken care of by hospital staff so that attendants need not to run from one room to other to locate doctors and other test reports.
“LG Sinha Sb also said that no payment will be charged from attendants but on the contrary, the hospital staff refused to perform X-ray without payment, Sharma said.
Contrary to directions of LG, the Hospital staff expected all type of assistance and even nursing care from the dependants,” said Sharma, who has lost whole family in Dangri massacre and Prince Sharma is the only surviving member in the family. He further alleged that attitude of GMC staff is irresponsive, rough and pinching. The attendants demanded immediate intervention of LG Manoj Sinha and requested him to issue suitable instructions to the hospital authorities for saving the precious lives.
