JAMMU: Police on Monday foiled the secretariat Gharao march of Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH).
Scores of SSH activists led by its National Vice President Rajesh Kesari today took a procession to Gharao secretariat on first day of budget session demanding immediate re-settlement of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) in Kashmir Valley as per the aspirations of the community.
The protesting activists raised slogans against the State Government for adopting delaying tactics vis-è-vis resettlement of KPs in Valley in the shape of separate homeland, as being demanded by the community for the last many years.
Speaking on the occasion, Kesari said that KPs were forced to leave their native land by the militants and other fundamentalist forces in 1990s.
“KPs were kept in camps for many years and later provided with small quarters wherein their life has become a hell as no facility is being provided to them. The State Government makes false claims about the welfare of migrant families but, in actual, they are living in worst inhumane conditions,” Kesari added.
He demanded that State Government should immediately start ground work for identification of chunk of land as being demanded by the KP community so that they could be settled there in whole.
