SRINAGAR: Academic work was badly hit in government schools as teaching staff under SSA went on strike across the State seeking release of their pending salaries.
Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) General Secretary Jahangir Alam Khan said that over 90 per cent middle and primary schools witnessed strike as the Rehbar-e-Taleem teaching community, without salaries from last five months went for the lock out of the schools.
The JKReTTF called for a four days’ lock-out strike of educational institutions against government’s ‘irresponsible attitude’ in resolving the burning issue of SSA salaries.
Jahangir Khan alleged that the tall claims of the Education Minister to delink and streamline SSA salaries have fallen flat and teaching community has been left with no option but to strike again.
“The financial constraints have caused traumatised situation for our families and government is unmoved,” Khan added.
