JAMMU: The SR College of Competitions on Saturday at its Gandhi Nagar campus organised a comprehensive Workshop aimed at upcoming UPSC (IAS) examinations thereby made the target students aware about new trends and ways to approach the exam which is scheduled to take place in August.
The visiting faculty in General Studies, CSAT, Public Administration and Political Science subjects touched various aspects and helped students clear doubts about how to approach the most competitive examination.
“The focus of discussion was the syllabi of the examination, sources of relevant study material for preparation, previous years question papers of both Prelims and Mains, time management and most importantly the strategy to approach this competitive exam at the national level,” said Director of the SR College, Parveen Sharma.
Target students, who were around 200 in number, were told about new trends and tips to emerge successful.
The resource persons in this over six-hour workshops were visiting faculty from Delhi, Gautam Pandey (General Studies and Public Administration), R K Jha (Political Science) and Vivek Sharma (CSAT).
Earlier, in CSAT workshop, Vivek Sharma deliberated on the power of assumptions in making mathematical questions easy. The overall importance of the need to develop aptitude was also discussed.
Similarly, in Political Science, R.K Jha informed the students about political theory and thought as core areas of subject and relevance in present context of examination.
