SR College conducts workshops for optional subjects

JAMMU: As a part of its ongoing series of workshops for the KAS-2016 Examination, the SR College of Competitions (SRCC) on Sunday conducted workshops for General Studies and the optional subjects of Geography and Public Administration at college premises, here.
The workshops received tremendous response from the KAS aspirants coming from various parts of the State. The faculty for the workshops included Praveen Sharma, Goutam Pandey (Delhi) and Vishal Singh.
In addition to the detailed orientation on the syllabus and the scheme of the examination, the highly adept faculty members have highlighted on the importance of serving in administrative services and how the services like KAS would provide both professional and personal satisfaction as they grant an opportunity to serve the people directly.
While motivating the students, the faculty also emphasised that the entry into such services requires dedicated, consistent and focused efforts on the part of students and meticulous guidance on the part of the institution at every stage of the three part examination.
The faculty also highlighted on the importance of selecting the right optional and assessing one’s level of preparedness by attempting very similar mock tests from time to time. Keeping in consideration the limited time available for the preliminary examination, the faculty also cautioned the aspirants to make effective utilisation of the time available. Further they gave some necessary tips on effective time management.
In the meantime, Director of SRCC, Parveen Sharma stated that the number of vacancies this time are high and the students who are planning to give the examination, but started their preparation only after seeing the notification need to go for the smart and guided preparation to be successful in the Examination.
He further added, SRCC is already running multiple batches to accommodate the surging number of candidates and all geared up to start additional batches to provide intensive coaching to the aspirants that started their preparation just now. Towards this, we have engaged the best of Delhi bound as well as local faculty members he added.
