NAGROTA: In a thrilling finale on Monday, Mahadev Cricket Club triumphed over Raja Mandlik Club with a score of 115 runs in the month-long cricket tournament held at Barn in Nagrota Assembly Constituency. This prestigious event, organized by Raja Mandik Cricket Club Barn, saw participation from 32 teams, showcasing a high level of competitive spirit.
Rajeshwar Singh was honored as the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament. At the closing ceremony, Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana lauded the enthusiasm and energy displayed by all participating teams. He highlighted the immense talent in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Nagrota, which needs to be nurtured and given opportunities to excel.
Rana emphasized the importance of such tournaments in identifying and polishing talent, helping players prepare for larger events.
He praised the young cricketers for their commitment and enthusiasm, noting that the month-long competition had captivated sports enthusiasts and inspired many to pursue sports for personal development and career advancement.
In his address, Rana stressed the value of sportsmanship, urging participants to view both victories and defeats as part of the journey, with each competition offering a chance for growth and improvement.
He expressed satisfaction with the growing interest in sports across Nagrota and commended the local youth for their dedication despite limited facilities.
Rana also extended his congratulations to the winning and runner-up teams, emphasizing the camaraderie inherent in sports.
