JAMMU: Member of the Standing Committee of the State Sports Council, Kuldeep Handoo has expressed his concern for the coaches appointed by the autonomous sports body on lower wages than those who drivers engaged on the same lines.
“This is not good. I have already raised the issue before the Standing Committee (highest decision making body) meeting to enhance the salary of contractual coaches from existing Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 on the analogy of Sports Authority of India (SAI),” said Handoo while commenting on the story uploaded by this correspondent on the face book.
Pertinent to mention here that the State Sports Council gives its coach, appointed on contractual basis, a monthly consolidated pay of Rs 5,000 whereas a driver appointed on same lines gets Rs 7,000 per month.
