Special Children Olympic inaugurated

DODA: A special tournament for the differently abled children was organized in Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Doda today by the Special Bharat Olympic J and K in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police Doda and 10 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda. The games are being held under the Scheme of Sports and Games for Persons with Disabilities by Ministry of Youth Services and Sports, Government of India.

MLA Doda Shakti Raj inaugurated the tournament and was the chief guest on the occasion in presence of Deputy Commissioner Doda Bhupinder Kumar, SSP Doda Z.N Manhas, 2nd in Command 10 RR Doda Kailash Jha,  President Bharat Olympic J&K Ashwani Jojra  and Principal GHSS (Boys) Doda Tanveer Ahmed Wani was also present on the occasion. During the tournament badminton, volleyball, JoJo, wheel chair race and other games for the disabled will be played.

The tournament for persons with disabilities saw participants from different schools.

While speaking on the occasion, Shakti Raj appreciated the initiative of the organisers for holding the tournament and said that there is need to carry on such special tournaments for the disabled and provide them a suitable platform to exhibit their sporting talent and enable them to compete in such events organized at State and National Level.

During the inaugural function Rajjo Devi sung the song “E Wattan E Wattan Hum Ko Teri Kasam”  was awarded and declared as Ambassador of Bharat Olympic J and K for Doda District.
