Soon only Sonia, Rahul Gandhi will be left in Congress:Naqvi

New Delhi: Taking potshot at the Congress’ decision on removing Shashi Tharoor from party spokesperson’s post, the BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said that soon party will only have Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

“Congress is removing many of its leaders from the party’s prominent posts. As everyone will praise PM Narendra Modi now, the party will soon lack leaders. The time is not far when only Sonia and Rahul Gandhi will be left in Congress,” said Naqvi.

Naqvi is not the only one in the BJP who ridiculed the Congress for its decision on Tharoor. The party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra also said that the incident showed that all was not well within the Congress party.

“This incident shows all is not well within Congress, there’s a great deal of confusion. I would like to take this opportunity to remind the Congress that Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives are aimed towards the nation as a whole. All the good work he is doing is for the nation. So, to have a narrow vision and to see everything with a political view is not good for the nation. The Congress should learn this,” Patra told ANI.

Yesterday, the Congress party cracked a whip on Shashi Tharoor and removed him from his duties as the spokesperson.

The decision came after Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had sought disciplinary action against Tharoor.

The KPCC had accused Tharoor of praising BJP’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister had invited Tharoor to ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

Earlier, Congress` Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor, in an article, had said that the development-centric approach of PM Narendra Modi suggested that he had evolved into “Modi 2.0”.

He had also said that the manner in which NDA government had steered clear of hardline rhetoric was a welcome step.
