New Delhi: The BSF on Tuesday said it has made some very “solid” arrangements to foil infiltration bids from across the Indo-Pak border and deployed smart gadgets and troops to check such attempts.
“It is true that terrorists are assembled across the border and they regularly try to infiltrate and come into our country. I can assure you that we have made very solid arrangements and every such attempt will be foiled,” BSF Director General K.K Sharma said.
“By using technological solutions and better deployment, we will ensure that infiltration does not happen,” he said on the sidelines of an event here.
Sharma was asked about measures that the border guarding force has taken to ensure that infiltration and Pathankot-like incidents do not take place from across the Indo-Pak International Border in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
He said the force, part of the overall security deployment along with CRPF, army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, has also made similar “Pukhtaa” (solid) arrangements to ensure a smooth Amarnath Yatra, beginning 2nd July. “I can assure you that this year also, solid arrangements have been made and we will conduct it (yatra) very peacefully,” he said.
The 48-day Yatra will commence from the twin routes of Baltal in Ganderbal District and Chandanwari in Anantnag District.
