Dear Editor,
Reference to the Nagrota terror attack, it was stupid on India’s part to accept a ceasefire on the LoC because of a Pakistan captain’s death due to our action, and this while we were in a dominant position. Pathankot, Uri, surgical strikes, killing of Capt Taimoor and its culmination in yet another revenge strike! The loudmouths of MoD should stop bragging about the surgical strikes, and stop making immature and provocative statements like ‘will gouge out their eyes and put them in their hands’. Please understand the ground realities. The Army has been emasculated and is being degraded each day. Its morale has a telling effect on its performance, and if its dignity, honour, pride and respect are not restored and upheld, even the best armies in the world will become lame ducks. Whom will the government blame for the Nagrota attack? The Corps Commander, Brigade Commander, Station Commander or the Commanding Officer, or the real culprits, our intelligence services? Whoever takes the blame, the truth is that our poor officers and jawans pay the price of such debacles with their lives, limbs and blood.
