JAMMU: Survey of India (SoI) shall be playing against star-studded side of Accountant General (AG) Jammu XI in the title clash of the ongoing cricket tournament, organised by Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC), at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played on Thursday, the SoI defeated Prasar Bharti XI by a margin of 73 runs. Batting first, SoI made 153 runs in given 20 overs for the loss of five wickets. Subash and Sanjeev Sharma played fine innings of 46 and 34 runs respectively while Dalbir Sodhi (18) and Sahshi Jamwal (18) were other main contributors to the total. For Prasar Bharti, Suresh claimed three wickets. In reply, Prasar Bharti XI was bowled out for 86 runs. Ravinder Singh remained top scorer with 31 runs while Rajesh Singh added 23. Shashi Jamwal and Labi Ram shared three wickets each while Maheshwar Singh bagged two for SoI. For his all round performance of 34 runs and one wicket, skipper, Sanjeev Sharma was declared Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, in other semifinal, the star-studded side of AG Office Jammu trounced Intelligence Bureau (IB) by 74 runs.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, AG set a target of 181 runs for the loss of three wickets. Sahil Bhawal played brilliant knock of 82 runs hitting 11 fours and two sixes. Bandeep Singh contributed 34 while Aditya Pratap Singh and Ravi Rainia added 30 and 12 runs respectively.
Batting second, IB XI was bundled out for 106 runs. S.P Bhagat (17), Rajinder (15) and Anil (11) were only batsmen to touch the double figure mark. Ashwani Gupta, Rahil Singh and Sahil Singh clinched two wickets each.
Later, Sahil Bhawal was declared Man of the Match. Today’s semifinals were officiated by the technical panel comprising Shashi Jamwal and Atul Sharma as Umpires. Now, the final shall be played between SoI and AG Office Jammu tomorrow at 10:00 AM.
