JAMMU: A Section Officer of the Department of Finance posted at Funds Office Poonch was arrested on Saturday after police ascertained that he had hatched a plot to kill 23-yr-old Shivani Jaral, whose sliced body was recovered from a septic tank in a house in Muthi.
According to reports, Shivani and Sunil Kumar had purchased a video camera to record intimate moments of Mohd Ibrahim, son of Noor Mohd, resident of W.No. 07 Dingla, Poonch and Rajni, wife of Sunil Kumar. The video was shot to blackmail Ibrahim. However, Ibrahim came to know about the video through Rajni and broke the camera. However, Shivani had taken away the memory card.
While Ibrahim tackled Sunil Kumar, Shivani threatened him to upload the video on You Tube.
On 12th March, 2015 Sunil called Shivani at Rehari and took her to Muthi. He along with Ibrahim and Rajni strangulated Shivani and cut her body into six pieces.
“Shivani was witness to the illicit relationship between Rajni Devi and Mohd Ibrahim and she had made a video of the duo in compromising position. Her plan was exposed and Rajni along with Ibrahim decided to get rid of Shivani, so they also involved Sunil by luring him of money and intimidating him,” police said.
Ibrahim had deposited Rs 50,000 in Rajni’s account two days before the murder.
After killing Shivani, Ibrahim left for Poonch whereas Rajni Devi and her husband Sunil Kumar went to buy a machete which they used to chop Shivani’s body to be dumped in a septic tank,” police said.
Two accused Rajni Devi and Sunil Kumar have already been arrested by the police.
The SIT headed by SDPO City South Dy SP Sachin Gupta with Inspector Parmjeet Singh SHO Gandhi Nagar, ASI Hazara Singh, ASI Babu Ram and HC Satvir Singh investigated the case.
