Snarling traffic, frequent jams irk residents

STATE TIMES NEWS
MENDHAR: Residents of Mendhar town falling under mountainous Poonch District have been subjected to undue harassment as they are forced to spend hours of distress on roads due to frequent traffic jams especially at the road leading to Poonch which passes through Main Bazaar of the town.
Albeit, people from all walks of life have to suffer due to movement of vehicles at snail’s pace but the most affected are the students and government servants. It has become a routine affair that students and government employees cannot make up the time elapsed due to crawling of vehicles and often reach late at their respective destinations. Irked over the issue, the commuters namely Rajat, Sanjay Dutta, Sonu Sharma and many others said that main reason behind this chaos on the road is due to smaller width of the path besides irresponsible attitude of people who park their vehicles haphazardly without giving a thought that their negligence could lead to unnecessary harassment of fellow commuters.
They appealed to the administration for taking immediate steps to ease out traffic congestion, remove bottlenecks and make aware the people to park their vehicles judiciously for smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
