KATRA: School of Mathematics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organised an expert lecture on ‘Convolution sums of the divisor function and representation numbers of certain quadratic forms’ by Prof. B. Ramakrishnan, Harish-Chandra Research Institute (DAE), Allahabad.
Prof Ramakrishnan is an eminent mathematician in the field of number theory. He is a fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India. Director of School Dr. A. K Das welcomed Prof Ramakrishnan and introduced him with other faculty members of the school.
In the lecture, Prof Ramakrishnan spoke about the contribution of famous mathematicians like Ramanujan, Euler and discussed recent developments made in the field including his own contribution.
The lecture was attended by all faculty members, research scholars and M.Sc. students.
