UDHAMPUR: To celebrate 200 days of operations in Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Nara-yana Superspeciality Hospital (SMVDNSH) Katra on Saturday announced the launch of a Privilege Card’ for senior citizens.
The card was launched by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Niraj Kumar, at a function in Udhampur.
Sunil Kumar, Zonal Director, Narayana Health and Dr. Manmohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH were also presented on the occasion.
A large number of senior citizens including members from pensioners association attended the event wherein 200 Health Cards were distributed to senior citizens.
Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Sunil Kumar said, “The exclusive card is an endeavour to provide certain privileges to senior citizens above the age of 60 and ensure they get the best quality of healthcare at an affordable cost”. “. The card is valid for a year and renewed thereafter.
The health card offers discounts on preventive health check, diagnostics and treatment including in-patient charges. He also informed that a separate counter has been set-up at the hospital to felicitate senior citizens and accelerate the process within the hospital without making them wait.
District Development Commissioner, Niraj Kumar congratulated Narayana Superspeciality Hospital on completing 200 days in J&K.
According to Dr. (Brig.) M M Harjai, “This initiative launched for the welfare of elderly persons can drastically improve the quality of life and better their quality of health and life”.
Earlier, SMVDSH in collaboration with Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and Lok Vikas Dal from Udhampur organized a health check-up and awareness program, which involved an interactive session with specialists, to create awareness about potential health complications arising due to old age, its prevention and management.
