SKUAST-TAJ holds executive committee meet

JAMMU: The 9th meeting of Executive Committee of SKUAST – Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) was held under its President, Dr. Vikas Sharma at Main Campus Chatha, Jammu in which various issues pertaining to the association and teaching community were discussed.
Dr. Vikas Sharma informed the committee members that by the regular efforts of the association from the last few months, 42 scientists who were engaged from Agriculture and Veterinary faculty of SKUAST-Jammu now finally got their share for performing counting duty in respect of elections to six Jammu Parliamentary Constituency-May 2014 as the amount has been transferred in their respective accounts recently by the district election authority.
Vikas announced that Dr. Biswajit Brahma (SMS, Animal Science) and Dr. Muneeshwar Sharma (SMS Plant Pathology) will be the new executives from Bhadarwah and Poonch outstations of SKUAST-Jammu respectively as their names have been nominated by the respective stations. Dr. Vikas added that main motto of the association is to resolve the problems and safeguard the professional interests of teaching fraternity of SKUAST-Jammu and to work for the overall development of Varsity.
Release of 17 per cent DA in favour of university employees, release of Ph.D increments arrears in favour of some scientists, UGC research projects and research council meet were among the major issues discussed in this committee meet.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Vivek M. Arya, Dr. P.K Rai, Dr. Rajeev Sangra, Dr. Devinder Sharma, Dr. Poonam Parihaar and Dr. Jai Kumar.
