SKUAST-TAJ constitutes blood donation unit

JAMMU: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) on Sunday constituted blood donation committee in which the association has created a data base of approximately 200 blood donors.
President SKUAST-TAJ, Dr. Vikas Sharma informed that data base contains 72 donors of blood group B+ve, 45 of O+ve, 27 of blood A+ve and 14 of AB+ve.
“Morever, they have the distinction of possessing donors of blood groups A-ve and O-ve and association is still striking hard to identify persons with rarest blood groups i.e., AB-ve and B-ve from the volunteers of nonteaching staff of SKUAST-Jammu”, said Dr. Vikas.
Dr Vivek M. Arya, General Secretary of the Association, emphasised that very soon the teaching association in collaboration with students and nonteaching staff will organise blood donation camps to donate blood for the needy patients who are struggling for their life in different hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir.
