JAMMU: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu), an ICAR-accredited Grade ‘A’ institution, is set to organize its 9th Convocation on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Baba Jitto Auditorium, Main Campus, Chatha, Jammu. The event marks a significant academic milestone for the University and its graduating students. Speaking about the occasion, Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu, shared that the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, will preside as the Chief Guest, honouring the academic achievements of the graduates and the University’s contributions to agricultural education. The convocation will also be attended by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Agriculture Minister Javed Ahmed Dar, MLAs, and Members of the Board of Management and University Council, reflecting the University’s vital role in the region’s agricultural and educational development. A total of 446 students who have successfully fulfilled all academic requirements will receive their degrees during the ceremony. The distribution includes 157 Master’s degrees (M.Sc./M.V.Sc./MBA-ABM), 46 Doctoral degrees (Ph.D.), 97 Bachelor’s in Agriculture (B.Sc. Hons.), 117 Bachelor’s in Veterinary Sciences (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), and 29 B.Tech. in Biotechnology degrees.
To acknowledge academic excellence, eight Gold Medals will be awarded to top-performing students across various faculties. Beyond academic honours, the University will also recognize contributions in innovation and entrepreneurship. Patent holders, University-based startups, and Professors of Practice will be awarded for their outstanding efforts in promoting agri-innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-academic collaboration.
