JAMMU: The Government on Friday reconstituted the Governing Body for Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar.
“In supersession of all previous orders on the subject, sanction is accorded to the re-constitution of the Governing Body for Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar,” read an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, General Administration Department.
As per the order, while Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, will be the Chairman of the Governing Body, the members of the Governing Body include Advisor(s) to Lieutenant Governor, J&K, Chief Secretary, J&K, Secretary, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, Director, AIIMS, New Delhi (or one of his Deans in the absence of Director, AIIMS), Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar, Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Principal, SKIMS Medical College, Bemina. “Director, SKIMS & Ex-Officio Secretary to Government will be the Member Secretary of the Governing Body,” it added.
The Advisors for the Governing Body are Administrative Secretaries of General Administration Department, H&ME Department, Finance Department and Planning, Development & Monitoring Department.
Special Invitees for the Governing Body include Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor and Dean, Medical Faculty, SKIMS, Soura.
