Sino-India Border Meet Delegates commit for maintaining, improving relations

LEH: Indian and Chinese troops on Monday held a ceremonial Border personnel meeting on the occasion of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Day.
The meeting was held at Chinese Border Personnel Meeting Huts in Chushul Sector of Eastern Ladakh and Ten Wen Den (TWD) in Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO), PRO Defence S.D Goswami said.
At Chushul, the delegations were led by Brigadier Navneet Kumar and Senior Colonel Fan Jun while at the DBO, the delegations were led by Col B.S Uppal and Colonel Song Zhou Li, he said.
The ceremonial border personnel meeting was marked by saluting of National Flag China by both the delegations, followed by the opening address by the delegation leaders, he said.
The proceedings comprising of exchange of greetings, wishes reflected the mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at functional level at the border, the officer said, adding that thereafter, a cultural programme showcasing vibrant Chinese cultural grandeur was organised.
“The two delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment,” he said.
The delegations parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC, he said, adding that both sides also sought to build on the mutual feeling to uphold the treaties and agreement signed between the governments of the two sides to maintain peace and tranquility along the LAC.
