SRINAGAR: Simula Super Stars and Anantnag Kings qualified for the semifinals of the Police Public Cricket Premier League, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, here on Monday. Earlier, in the first quarterfinal played on Monday, Simula Super Stars defeated HK Stars.
Batting first, HK Stars scored 149 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Shubam Pander made 55 runs.
In reply, Simula Super Stars chased the target in 19.5 overs with Hardeep Singh winning knock of 54 runs.
All the match awards went to Simula Superstars with Hardeep Singh declared as Man of the Match, Puneet Kumar as Most sixes and Paris Sharma as Best catch award.
In another quarterfinal, batting first, JKP Tigers made 121 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. Jatin was top scorer with 38 runs.
In reply, Anantnag Kings chased the target in 18.5 overs. Asif Rasool made 27 runs. Man of the Match award was given to Asif Rasool. Best catch of the match award went to Mehjoor and Most sixes award was achieved by Ishtiyaq of JKP Tigers.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Ghulam Hassan Bhat and SP East Harmeet Singh distributed the awards among the players. The semifinals will be played on Tuesday at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar.
