POONCH: The Sikh United Forum (SUF) Poonch held a protest against District Administration and GREF for neglecting the basic facilities to the people inspite of repeated appeals to the concerned departments.
President of the Forum Sarabjit Singh Kranti said that the road stretch from Bawli (Drungli) to Dera Nangali Sahib has not been repaired or black topped since long due to which it has developed pot holes. Thous-ands of devotees from the State and even from outside the State would participate in the festival.
“On the other hand, the GREF which is responsible for the maintenance of these roads including the Jammu – Poonch Highway is not taking due pain in completing the bridge and repairing the road”, he said and added that the Tourism Department which had provided Street lights in Gurdwara complex Nangali Sahib five years back, has not replaced the tube lights for the last couple of years and is passing on the responsibility to Municipal Committee, which has denied the same.

After listening to their demands, he assured them that their grievances will be brought to the notice of DDC Poonch and SSP for redressal. On the assurance of SHO, Forum members lifted Dharna and the road was thrown open.
