Sikh organisations convene meeting prior to DGPC election

KATHUA: Many Sikh Organisations on Saturday jointly convened a meeting here in the premises of District Gurudwara Kathua to intensify the election process that is going to take place on coming 8th July. The meeting was chaired by Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman State Gurdwara Parbandak Committee in which participants took resolution to exercise votes to right candidate for the development of the community and holy places in the State.
While addressing hundreds of prominent of Sikh community, Wazir said there is no representative of Sikh community in sitting State Assembly that showed prejudiced attitude of political parties towards community. He said the election process for District Parbandak Committee and Sikh Gurudwara Parbandak Board will start soon and people should choose those candidates who can represent the community at State level and raised their issues before government for redress.
Charanjeet Singh Bhola, President District Gurdwara Parbandak Committee Kathua, Bhupinder Singh Sehgal, The Sikh Youth welfare Society Kathua, Manjeet Singh, Navjot Singh, Vakil Singh, Supinder Singh and many others dignitaries discussed several problems being faced by community due to lack of representation in the present Assembly.
