Signature campaign under SVEEP organised in Poonch

POONCH: To achieve the objective of increasing voter awareness and maximum voter turnout, a massive Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) signatures campaign was organised, under the guidance of District Election Officer, M.H Malik, in which more than twenty thousand persons comprising of commuters, drivers, conductors, lawyers, officials from the district court complex, government degree colleges and district hospital besides employees of several departments and students from different educational institutions put their signatures for participation in 2nd December polling.
The district election authorities have also distributed District Election Officer’s appeal letters to people in various parts of the district. The DEO, through this medium, has appealed to the voters to exercise their right to vote on 2nd of December.
Meanwhile, SVEEP rallies and programmes were organized by SVEEP team headed by Nodal Officer, Dr. Zakir Hussain at Govt. Degree College and Muqaddas College in Mendhar and HSS Sawjian where students from HS Gagrian, HS Chamber besides local residents also participated. Students, officials and prominent citizens were also administered Pledge to cast vote on the poll day.
To motivate the electorate and to ensure maximum participation on December 2, the district SVEEP team have been organizing motor rallies, pledges, signature campaigns, mushairas, cultural programmes, debates, seminars and symposia since Phase-II of the comprehensive district SVEEP programme was launched by the DEO.
