JAMMU: Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Jammu and Kashmir, State President Rajiv Mahajan expressed serious concern over neglect of family of an honest police officer DSP Ashutosh Sharma by his own department, J and K Police.
Pleading the case of Jyoti Sharma, a well educated woman residing in Jammu, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan said she has been running from pillar to post for the last seven months to get her pension. Her husband Ashutosh Sharma, a DSP, died in the month of August, 2016.
“Nepotism, corruption and the slow pace in processing file related to pension and compensation has put family and widow of honest policeman in dire state,” he said.
Jyoti Sharma, Rajiv said, visited all offices several times, but nothing has moved so far.
She is waiting wait for seven months but the battle to get the widow’s pension still continues, he added.
“She went several times to the pension office and her file is still pending,” Rajiv Mahajan lamented.
Mahajan appealed to Director General of Police Dr S.P Vaid to take personal interest and take care of family of police officer.
Rajiv Mahajan said it is very unfortunate that the Police Department has forgotten the services of honest officer then DSP Ashutosh Sharma and never took any measures for the welfare of his family after his demise.
“His family is in great distress and is facing financial crunch. The education of his children has been severely affected. His parents are old and infirm and are having multi ailments, but none has come to the rescue of them,” Mahajan added.
Mahajan also appealed to Police Department not to pressurise the family of deceased police officer to vacate the government accommodation till his children stand on their feet.
He also asked government to provide job to the wife of deceased police officer under SRO 43.
