Shruti Adhikari enthralls audience with Santoor presentation

JAMMU: Shruti Adhikari, a renowned Santoorist from Bhopal, on Sunday spellbound the audience with her thrilling performance under the series entitled ‘Sahre Prauhane’ organised by J and K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in K L Saigal Hall, here. Shruti Adhikari, hails from Bhopal is India’s first lady Santoorist who always makes her relentless endeavour to give away joy and peace and message of harmony with the hundred stringed instrument Santoor.
She also owns a musical group ‘Panchnaad’ consisting of five female Indian Classical Music talents. V.K Sambyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu, was the Chief Guest while Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL was also present in the presidium. Sambyal, while complimenting today’s programme, said that the compact performance by Shruti Adhikari, the established Santoorist of the country, enthralled the audience and deserves great applause.
Earlier welcoming the august gathering, Dr. Amn highlighted the aims and objectives of holding such programme under its series ‘Sahre Prouhane’.
He said that in such prgorammes an out stationed personality from the art, culture and languages is brought on the academy platform to have an interaction with the local artists.
This not only provides an opportunity to witness the performance of the outside artists in the respective field but it also gives a chance to have interaction with others, he added.
Shruti Adhakari was also felicitated on the occasion. Samual Masih renowned Tabla Player accompanied on Tabla.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Anil Tickoo, Assistant Cultural Officer of the Academy whereas the vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri.
Among prominent persons present were Col. J.P Singh, Col. Karan Singh, Ashok Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Neeraj Kumar, Darmash Nargotra, Ravi Sharma, K.L Verma, Victor Masih, Lokesh Chander, Deepak Kumar, Sars Bharti, Pooja Devi, Anagha Attri, Neeraj Verma, Esha Balgotra, Sonam, Rohit Sharma, Rumjhum and Arindam.
