Shrine Board organises Eco-Trekking Programme

KATRA: To inculcate among youths a spirit of adventure, appreciation of bio diversity of the Trikuta Hills, by Forest Wing of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) organised a two days Eco-Trekking Programme with the help and participation of NCC Directorate, Jammu.
About 16 NCC cadets, 12 Shrine Board staff members and 14 CRPF Jawans took part in the trekking programme.
Ajeet Kumar Sahu, CEO, SMVDSB delivered orientation address to the participants on Trikuta Hills Ecology and various efforts made by the Shrine Board for preservation of fragile ecosystem and flagged off the trek.
On day one, participants started their trekking from Sarpatian to Devi Pindian and returned back to Kunia Panthal Hi-tech Nursery via Mattali Dabbar.
On day two, the trekking team started its journey from Palel Village and reached Himkoti via Guddi Dhar through subtropical Chir and plantation areas.
The trek was conceptualised and supervised by Dr. M.K Kumar, Additional CEO of the Board.
