KAKRYAL: At its recent meeting the Governing Body of the Superspeciality Hospital reviewed all aspects of the hospital’s functioning, particularly the data relating to the treatment of outdoor and indoor patients, number of diagnostic tests conducted and major surgeries performed at this hospital since it commenced functioning on 8th April 2016. The Governing Body noted that so far nearly 12,000 patients had been seen at this hospital and about 260 surgeries and procedures have been performed of which 33 have been of an extremely critical nature. Dialysis has also been carried out for both indoor and outdoor patients.
Amongst the critical surgeries performed at this hospital was the ‘Beating Heart Bypass Surgery’ on a 63 year old person. This surgery was carried out by Dr. Shirish Dhoble, known Cardio-thoracic Surgeon, who was supported by a team of highly trained doctors, anaesthetists and nurses. The patient successfully underwent a triple vessel coronary artery bypass surgery. Till date six major open heart surgeries have been successfully performed at this hospital. It is significant that all these surgeries were performed on a ‘Beating Heart’ and not after the heart functioning had been stopped and the patient put on a machine. Taking into account the excellent progress being achieved at this hospital, the Governing Body decided that this 230 bedded Superspeciality Hospital will provide free OPD services for another three months to benefit the local population and the people at large.
Decisions on various other important matters were also taken by the Governing Body which was chaired by Dr. S.S Bloeria, Member Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, and participated by B.B Vyas, Member Governing Body and Chairman Finance and Audit Committee; Dr. S.P Singh, Chief Executive Officer and Brig. M.M Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer of the Hospital; Dr. Emmanuel Rupert, Chief of Medical Services, NH Group; and A.K Sahu, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
