JAMMU: Shri Ganesh Chaturthi Parav, a religious function which is celebrated in the country every year in honour of Lord Shri Ganesha in a similar way as devotees worship Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji in north during navaratras & Pongal in the South. Shri Ganesh Chaturthi Parav is most important religious function of all Hindus which is celebrated every year with great pomp and show.
Like previous years, this year too on Thursday Shri Ganesh Chaturthi Mahotsav celebrations organized by Shree Lakshmi Naryan Mandir Management Trust Gandhi Nagar Jammu under the chairmanship of Gulchain Singh Charak former minister and president of the Trust started by installing a beautiful Murti of Lord Ganesha with complete religious fervor by the learned Shastries by chanting religious mantras by the Pujaries at Shri Lakshmi Naryan Mandir Parisar.
During the 10 days of Ganesh Mahotsav daily morning/ evening special Poojas/ Arties were performed by the learned Shastries where in besides Trustees/ Special invitees large number of devotees participated in Maha Arti followed by distribution of Parsad/Bhandaras regularly Arranged by the devotees. Today on 28th of Sept i.e last day of this year’s celebrations, special Maha Arti was performed in Mandir where in, besides, Trust President, member Trustees/Special Invitees and a large number of devotees participated.
Thereafter, Murti of Lord Ganesh was taken in a very well decorated vehicle by the President himself along with learned Shastries, Trustees and other devotees chanting slogans “Ganpati Bappa Maurya” for its Immersion at Jia Pota, Akhnoor into the sacred River Chenab with the prayers to Lord Ganesha to give Darshan next year also.
