JAMMU: A short-film with lead role performed by Rajesh Sharma was showcased on Saturday at Amar Singh Club, Jammu which was witnessed by a gathering of prominent citizens. The occasion was graced by Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma as Chief Guest.
Son of the soil, Rajesh Sharma, who is working with Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd as Deputy General Manager in Western UP, is instrumental in keeping the flag of arts and culture high through various forms performing arts.
Earlier, in 2021, his Dogri song ‘Jammu De Loko’ depicting the culture of Jammu, written and sung by him proved a major hit.
In short-film ‘Swachhta Ek Abhyas’, he debuted as an actor in Delhi NCR’s known Social Audio Visual Club Nautanki Kalakar, which is known for its contribution in awakening society towards social evils through their short-films. Bharat Vig, who is a known actor and director, and has featured in famous TV serials like ‘CID’, is creator of the short-film.
While appreciating film, Mayor Jammu said that if citizens like Rajesh Sharma, can take out time in keeping our art and culture alive despite their busy professional schedules, anybody can do so to create a better tomorrow for the generations to come. Such attempts are called as ‘giving back to society’, he said during his address, said Rajesh Sharma.
Mayor JMC requested him to help JMC in creating similar short-films for all good initiatives being taken by the Corporation to aware masses regarding Smart City. He also appreciated motivational lectures being delivered by Rajesh Sharma in various institutions like colleges and Belt Forces on work and Life balance.
