SHO G’Nagar directed to file status report in missing girl case

JAMMU: Justice Tashi Rabstan of J and K High Court Jammu Wing in a habeous Corpus Petition directed the Station Head Officer (SHO), Gandhi Nagar to file status report or appear in person.
Advocate Aditya Sharma submitted before the Court that a girl namely Renu has been forcibly taken away by private respondents in the 2014 and since then the whereabout of her daughter are not known. It was further pleaded by the Advocate Aditya Sharma that the Petitioner apprehends that her daughter might had been sold to someone or murdered by the private respondents. Even the petitioner had approached the National Commission for Women, New Delhi Human Right Commission as well as the higher police officials number of times but till today nothing has been done, even the religion of the daughter Renu had been converted as well. Moreover Renu alias Ruksar Begum (Changed Name) has not been seen by any one since August 2014 and there is every apprehension that she might have been murdered by the private respondents and the lack luster approach of the Police Officials and no action taken by them is making the condition further worst.
Justice Tashi Rabstan observed that despite of lapse of more than 11 months, status report has not been filed and directed the Station Head Officer,Gandhi Nagar to file status report within two weeks with respect to the action taken till today
failing which SHO has to appear in person on next date of hearing.
