 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackery) on Tuesday strongly criticised Jammu Municipal Corporation for harassing citizens of Jammu on one pretext or the other.
While talking to media persons here today, the Shiv Sena Vice President Narinder Dev Chunni, Sandeep Bhagat and M.M Sadotra said that JMC is harassing the innocent civilians with new self made rules and policies which are not made for benefit of locals but have become headache for them.
He said JMC style of work is so poor that today in the whole city construction of buildings illegally is going on unabated under the nose of JMC. They said when a owner starts building work, concerned JMC officers remain mute spectator and when building is ready JMC officials start sealing the building, harassing the innocents and also demand huge amount of bribe for completing the file.
Narinder Dev said illegal construction of buildings are going everywhere in the city viz. Janipur, Bakshi Nagar, Gujjar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Roop Nagar, Old City and almost in all colonies.
He further said now JMC is targeting the innocent traders of Indira Chowk (Ranbir Market) and in front of their shops has made paid parking besides the fact that this land belongs to Jammu and Kashmir Dharamarth Trust and this market has been established in the year 1979 and JMC is forcefully capturing the land and is harassing the shopkeepers.
Dimpy said that huge piece of land belonging to JMC is opposite Ranbir Market on which commercial vehicles are parked by private vehicle owners and if it is very necessary for the JMC to build paid parking at Indira Chowk it should construct it on the land which belongs to JMC opposite Ranbir Market to earn revenue.
He said that Shiv Sena will not allow JMC to do injustice with the shopkeepers of Ranbir Market and will start big agitation against JMC. He said JMC should immediately withdraw its order regarding paid parking in front of Ranbir Market or get ready to face agitation.
