Shiv Barat to be taken out on Feb 23

JAMMU: Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) along with Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust is taking out Shiv Barat (Shobha Yatra) on 23rd February on the eve of Maha Shivratri festival which falls on 24th February.
Talking to media persons, Mahant of Ranbireshwar Temple, Rishi Ban said that on 23rd February, a grand Shobha Yatra of Lord Shiva will be jointly taken out by Jammu and Kashmir Dharamath Trust and SRMWC.
He added that this Shobha Yatra will start from Shri Ranbireshwar Temple at 3:30 PM and will pass through all main Bazaars of the old city viz. Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazaar Chowk , Residency Road, Rajinder Bazaar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Mubarak Mandi, Upper Bazaar, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Parade Chowk and will finally culminate at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple. “On 24th Febuary a free medical camp with the co-operation of Indian System of Medicines will also be organised at temple premises in which renowned doctors will examine the patients and give them free medicines,” he informed.
Some religious, cultural programmes will also be organised by the renowned artists on the occasion of Maha Shivratri Festival, he said and appealed to all people and trade organisations to take part in these programmes and get blessings of Lord Shiva.
He also appealed to trader organisations of old Jammu city to decorate their markets with gates, buntings, lights to welcome Shiv Barat.
Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust Shashi Khajuria also appealed to all people to be part of these programmes.
