JAMMU: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated Sports Day-cum-prize distribution function on Tuesday in the school premises.
Speaker legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the Chief Guest while District President BJP, Baldev Baloria was the Presiding Guest who were welcomed by the Principal, Rameshwar Mengi.
The function started with the lighting of the divine torch by Kavinder Gupta.
Rita Mengi-Trustee of RMPS, Ravinder Kour-Principal of RMPS, Nirmal Sharma-Main Incharge Jeevan Nagar, Kiran Gupta-Incharge Gandhi Nagar and Amit Gupta-Incharge Senior Secondary Wing Jeevan Nagar were also present.
An enthralling Ganesh Vandana was presented by the students of Pushp Vatika Wing of the school under the supervision of Shivauka. A series of cultural and traditional games were performed by the students.
Winners of the games were awarded prizes and gifts.
The Chief Guest lauded the performance of students, staff and the management for meeting out the high scholastic and co- scholastic needs of nation. He praised the principal for glorifying the school for being not only as one of the oldest school in Jammu Province but also for establishing a high reputation and fine traditional background.
The Presiding Guest was impressed to analyze the multi-disciplinary learning activities of students and multi-professional potential of the teaching faculty of Shiksha Niketan. The vote of thanks was presented by the Nirmal Sharma.
