JAMMU: Shastri Cricket Club on Wednesday registered a six wickets win against Rainawari Cricket Club in the ongoing Second Drug Free Youth Winter Cup (50 overs) Cricket Tournament at Country Cricket Academy Grounds, Gharota, near here.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Rainawari Club could make 106 runs with Farooq and Nipun being highest scorers contributing 27 and 17 runs respectively. Sunny bowled brilliant spell taking away four wickets for 14 runs. Anchal and Aman also bowled well securing three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, Shastri Club achieved the target in 27 overs for the loss of four wickets. Chander played fine innings of 43 runs while Kanhaiya and Avesh made valuable contributions of 23 and 19 runs respectively.
For Rainawari, Nitin clinched three wickets. For his four wickets haul, Sunny was adjudged Man of the Match. Today’s match was officiated by the technical panel comprising Ashok Singh and Lakshya Khajuria. This tournament is being organised under the supervision of former Ranji cricketer, Vivek Sharma.
