Media delegation from J&K calls on Governor of Telangana

HYDERABAD/JAMMU: A media delegation from Jammu & Kashmir called on the Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma on Wednesday.
About fourteen journalists from various newspapers of J&K are on tour to Telangana as part of the ‘Press Tour’ organized by Press Information Bureau, wherein, journalists from one state are taken to another to understand the implementation of policies and programmes of the Government at the ground level.
The delegation was headed by Shruti Patil, Additional Director General, PIB Hyderabad and Tariq Rather, Deputy Director of PIB, Srinagar.

Welcoming the media delegation, Governor, Jishnu Dev Varma said, “Telangana is a the state which is rich in culture, heritage, art, and crafts.”
He said Hyderabad’s industrialization and development are significant achievements.
Lauding the initiative of PIB in organizing such tours for journalists, Governer said, “In today’s age of communication and high-profile journalism, such visits are very significant. Visiting districts to observe the government’s best practices and taking those learnings back to their respective states helps in strengthening our democratic setup.”
The week-long itinerary of the media delegation includes visits to national institutions like INCOIS, NIN, NSTI and interact with the beneficiaries of various government schemes.
The delegation comprised of journalists from dailies of Jammu and Kashmir like State Times, Excelsior, Asian Mail, Kashmir Monitor, Gadyal, Kashmir Observer, Brighter Kashmir, Dainik State Samachar and Udaan.
The PIB delegation included Deputy Director Dr. Manas Krishnakanth, M&CO V. Gayithri and IA Shivcharan Reddy.
Later, the PIB Hyderabad organized a media tour to the iconic Golconda Fort, providing delegates a chance to explore one of India’s most remarkable historical sites. Media representatives from various regions participated in the tour.
A fort guide, while interacting with Sanjay Sharma, senior reporter of State Times from Jammu and Kashmir, informed that Golconda Fort, originally built in the 12th century by the Kakatiya dynasty and later expanded by the Qutb Shahi rulers, stands as an architectural marvel known for its advanced engineering and majestic grandeur.
“The fort is renowned for its massive gates, intricately designed arches, and stunning palaces, all of which offer a window into its glorious past,” the guide added.
“One of the most captivating features of the fort is its unique acoustic system,” he said.
As the media delegates experienced firsthand, a clap at the fort’s entrance echoes clearly at the top of the citadel, showcasing the precision of its design.
The media delegation embarked on a steep but rewarding climb to the top of the fort, where they were treated to a panoramic view of Hyderabad’s skyline. Along the way, they passed key structures including water reservoirs, mosques, temple and the Durbar Hall, all of which highlight the fort’s historical significance.
The visit concluded with a Light and Sound Show, which illuminated the fort’s walls while narrating its rich history through dramatic storytelling. The event left the delegates with a deep appreciation for India’s cultural heritage, as Golconda Fort continues to captivate both history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
