Sham Lal calls for unified efforts for harmonious growth of society

JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former minister Sham Lal Sharma on Friday called for a united effort for harmonious growth of the society, saying that the bonds of amity and brotherhood need to be further strengthened to make this world a better place to live in.
The senior BJP leader was speaking at the annual congregation of Fawa Mahajan Biradari at Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple, Thattar Bantalab, Jammu.
On the occasion, State BJP Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Coordinator Dil Bahadur Singh, Councilor JMC, Kuldeep Singh, Chairman Fawa Mahajan Sabha Shiv Gupta, President Pawan Gupta, Vice President Satish Gupta, Treasurer Vijay Gupta, Shakti Dutt and Dev Raj accompanied the former minister.
Sham Lal prayed to Bawa Kailakh Dev for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. He said that religious tourism has a great potential in Jammu and Kashmir and it was one of the major contributors to the Union Territory’s economy.
He said that there is dire need to bring Baba Jitto Shrine and Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple on the tourism map of Jammu as both the places have the potential to boost the religious tourism in the Union Territory.
Sham Lal said that promotion of harmonious society holds the key to creating an enabling environment for peace and progress of mankind. He said that the congregation being held at the iconic place of Bawa Kailakh Dev Temple reminds of the glorious ethos of Dogras, who are the proud inheritors of great cultural heritage.
Sham said social justice, compassion, amity and peace has been the sole motivation of the saints and sages who have blessed the greatest civilization across the country in general and Jammu in particular. Their message of peace and tranquility has to be imbibed in letter and spirit for bequeathing it to the posterity to make this world a better place to live in, he added.
The former minister called for strengthening the bonds and brotherhood, saying this has been the cornerstone of Jammu’s glorious ethos.
