UDHAMPUR: The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma on Friday conducted aerial survey of Ramban, Reasi and Saddal, Panjer and Muttal areas of Panchari in Udhampur Districts to take stock of the situation arisen due to recent incessant rains and flash floods.
He was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu and IGP Jammu Zone Rajesh Kumar.
At Ramban, the minister interacted with the flood, landslide and rains affected families. He assured them for all possible help from the State Government and asked the district administration to depute senior officers team to assess the losses of crops, private property and public utilities and submit the lists to DDC for relief.
He stressed on immediate restoration of road links, power supply and other essential services in all affected areas of the districts. He also directed for early restoration of road connectivity also.
The minister also directed for distribution of free ration, tents and other daily use items to the families whose houses have been completely damaged.
