Sham assures independent probe in Handwara PHE Division


SRINAGAR: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma on Wednesday announced that an independent enquiry will be conducted to ascertain the truth in the alleged irregularities in PHE Division Handwara. In the meantime, the Executive Engineer, PHE Division, Handwara will be attached with immediate effect till the completion of enquiry.
The minister was responding to a point raised by MLA Langate, Er Sheikh Abdul Rashid in the House.
Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Ch. Mohammad Ramzan informed that to further strengthen the network of LPG supply; the Government has set in motion the process of establishing 172 new LPG outlets across the State. These outlets will be opened in phased manner at identified locations as per merit and demands of people.
The minister was intervening on an issue raised by Aswhani Kumar Sharma wherein he had demanded opening of Gas outlets at village Arnia and Alla in Bishnah Constituency.
Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo informed that government is actively considering enhancing the present rate of pensions to various categories to facilitate the beneficiaries. She said the Government has already enhanced the pension of disabled category and fixed at Rs. 500 per month.
The minister further informed that the government has cleared the pendency of pension cases and gave its nod to over 70,000 cases of various categories during the present regime.
The minister was responding to a point raised by M.Y Tarigami regarding enhancement of pensionary benefits to various categories.
Durga Dass called for immediate measures to improve the drinking water scenario in Hiranagar Constituency.
Aijaz Ahmed Jan demanded opening of extension counters of ration and kerosene oil in border villages to facilitate people living along zero line in Poonch.
Nizam-ud-Din Bhat sought upgradation of health services in his constituency.
Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta demanded 5-marla plots for the border people at safer places to use during the emergency conditions.

Harshdev Singh, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Yashpal Kundal, Zahoor Mir, Bharat Bushan, Mrs. Bimla Luthra and Rafi Ahmed Mir demanded augmentation of existing power infrastructure to improve the overall power scenario in their constituencies. Mohammad Sharief Niaz demanded expeditious completion of roads being constructed under PMGSY in his constituency.
Dr. Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan, Ch. Zulfikar Ali and Baldev Sharma demanded immediate filling up of posts of teachers/head masters/Principals and ZEOs in their constituencies.
R.S Sharma demanded administrative units for left out areas in his constituency.
G.M Saroori and Balwant Singh Mankotia demanded immediate regularization of daily wagers/Rehbar-i-Zirat.
Mohammad Khalil Band demanded CT Scan in District Hospital, Pulwama.
Peer Mansoor Hussain demanded adequate compensation to the hailstorm victims in Chogam-Shangus area.
Indu Pawar called for steps to defuse the border situation to save the life and property of people.
Jagdish Spolia sought Government’s intervention to press the Ranjit Sagar Dam authorities to ensure the posting of employees hailing from Basohli at the Dam site only and not to other parts of Punjab.
Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat called for early start of work on widening of Satwari-RS Pura road.
Shabir Ahmed Khan sought early conduct of interview to fill the posts of teachers in Rajouri district.
Ashok Kumar demanded Upgradation of schools in his constituency.

Abdul Rehman Veeri demanded immediate survey to assess the loss to the horticulture crops due to hailstorm in his constituency. He also called for ensuring quality pesticides and fixing support price of C-grade apple to give succour to the orchardists.
Shamima Firdous demanded expeditious measures to rehabilitate the people who were affected due to road widening in old Srinagar city.
Charanjeet Singh called for creation of appropriate staff for newly established administrative units.
Syed Bashir Ahmed, Peer Afaq, Mr. Sham Choudhary, Mr. Javed Ahmed Dar also raised issues of public importance pertaining to their constituencies.
