When shall muscular Modi rise against Pakistan?

BLUNT BUTCHER

JAMMU: What an irony? The day Pakistan Foreign Secretary was holding talks with his counterpart in New Delhi, an Indian citizen-
a celebrity in his own right-was being heckled and subjected to humiliation by radicalized Pakistanis at Karachi Airport. Kabir Khan is just an individual and the treatment meted out to him symbolizes the venom the rogue neighbour has for Indian nation. This reflected in most
crude form by manifesting in public humiliation of an Indian. The Pakistan media is agog with reports that frenzied protesters ignored
great contribution of the targeted Bollywood filmmaker Kabir Khan, credited with super hit Bajrangi Bhaijan, a film revolving round Indo-
Pak landscape and focused on a deaf and dumb girl. They wanted him to produce a film on alleged RAW spy-ring in Pakistan, especially Kulbushan Jadhav, the so-called Navy officer who was arrested recently. The attack on the Indian film-maker did not evoke any response from the Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA Government at the Centre. In fact, this government has stopped reacting against the inhuman and barbaric acts of Islamabad. It did nothing about the mysterious death of Kirpal Singh, who died mysteriously very recently, as he
knew the facts on Sarabjeet Singh’s death. Why is it so that the BJP Government, headed by a mascular Prime Minister forgot what he used to say about the rogue nation in run up to the 2014 Parliamentary election? Be it killing Indian soldiers, hobnobbing with  Hurryiat Conference, tormenting Indian citizens as spys, engineering Pathankot terror attack and sabotaging every Indian initiative of heralding
peace, India is being seen surrendering its grit and self esteem. At a time, when Narendra Modi’s government seems to be making a desperate bid to engage Pakistan in peace process, the attack on the Bollywood film-maker, preceded by Kirpal Singh’s death and Jadhav’s arrest as spy, has come as a big embarrassment for the Indian peace pigeons. Narendra Modi has virtually mellowed down beyond expectation in respect of forging a working relationship with Pakistan. He was among the few most vocal BJP leaders who used to mock at
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his ‘meek response’ to Pakistan. However, the era under his stewardship has witnessed u-turns over most contentious issues-Indo Pak relations being one amongst them. What has driven the NDA Government to go soft towards Pakistan?
The insistence of the self flaunting government to hold ‘peace parleys’ with  the rogue neighour is incomprehensible, as Pakistan has all along brazenly refused to address to New Delhi’s concerns. Instead of taking note of these, they have been provoking New Delhi by
way of anti-India activities, infiltration, ceasefire violations and the heinous crimes against Indian soldiers on Line of Control. India has been parroting peace with an administration that has been supervising machinations against India, its people and its armed and security
forces. Unfortunate part of all this is that the so-called ultra-nationalist government in New Delhi has not learned any lesson from backstabbing of Pakistan. India has always suffered from delusion. How can Indians forget that Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed over hundreds of cease-fire violations last year, which are continuing even now intermittently.
It is time for Narendra Modi to call off all the engagements with Pakistan. He must emulate the US which risked its fragile relations with Moscow over the issue of a fugitive over a year ago. If it is an Indian Bollywood filmmaker today, tomorrow anybody can be
subjected to humiliation, despite the fact that Hurriyat Conference conspires with Pakistani dignities in Islamabad’s High Commission in New Delhi right under the nose of Prime Minister. The muscleman should act, now or it will be never!
