JAMMU: Shaheen Football Club (FC) shall take on equally good J&K Bank (JKB) Academy in the title clash slated for 3rd August in the ongoing Second Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Young Hero’s Club at GGM Science College Ground, here.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played on Monday, JKB Academy defeated Jammu Sports by a solitary goal. The all important goal netted by Rohit Kumar (senior) in the 77th minute of the well contested game.
In other semifinal, Shaheen made it a 2-0 win against Young Hero’s Club. Neeraj Thapa (64th) and Arjun (75th ) were the scorers. Earlier, the
first half of the game remained barren with both sides playing aggressive football.
The game was so charged that the centre referee had to warn a couple of players with yellow cards just to control the boys. For Shaheen FC, Mohit was shown a yellow card in the 61st minute. Two yellow cards were shown to the players of losing side, Arun Gill and Gulshan Kumar for their foul play.
Today semifinals were conducted by the technical panel including Suresh Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Dil Bahadur, Rickey Kumar and Rohit Gupta.
