JAMMU: Senior leaders of the State Government Employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) criticized the move of three Dy. Commissioners viz Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi who have ordered change of office times in contravention to the practice in vogue for the last so many year in summer and winter zones.
Talking to reporters, SGEJAC leader Subash Verma warned the authorities to immediately review the order and questioned the wisdom of DCs who have chosen to change the office timings despite the fact that all offices in summer zones were having timing from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM for the last over six decades.
They appealed to Chief Minister to intervene in this matter.
In case the authorities want to bring uniform pattern we strongly demand that offices working outside Civil Secretariat should be ordered five day week and employees from Jammu should be allowed for Tuesday break like Friday for offering prayers. The leaders served ultimatum to the respective Dy. Commissioners for continuing office timings as hitherto fore. The leaders also condemned the brutal force used on the agitating casual labourers at Srinagar and demanded enquiry.
The leaders appealed to the employees to ready for a decisive struggle.
Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, K.C Dubey, Maheshwar Sharma, Yash Pal Magotra, Jarnail Khokhar, Rinku Gill, Mohammad Farooq and Manjoor Ali were also present in the press conference.
