JAMMU: Sikh Progressive Front (SPF) convened a press conference under the presidentship of Balvinder Singh along with Manjit Singh former National Player and International Hockey Umpire, Iqbal Singh, Ravinder Singh Bitta, Jaswinder Singh Kuku, H.S Reen, Daljit Singh all former national Payers and other hockey Lovers Manjit Singh, T.P Singh, Ravinder Singh, Angat Singh Raju expressed their resentment against Sports Council for not taking the sexual harassment complaint filed by one woman hockey player of Hockey J&K against Rajinder Singh Kuku Sr Vice President Hockey J&K seriously
Balvinder sought immediate attention of Sports Council as well as Police authorities against the alleged culprit for grave and serious offence.
Singh also expressed surprise that when Narinder Dhruv Batra after Registration of FIR against him by CBI resigned from all top posts held by him as President IOA but S Rajinder Singh Kuku whose name was also figured in the same FIR No. RC0032022A0044 dated on July 14, 2022, under IPC sections 120B, 409, 477A is still being allowed by J&K Sports Council to continue as Sr Vice President of Hockey J&K for playing with the dignity of female hockey players of JK UT, for the reason best known to the authorities.
It is pertinent to mention that the so called Hockey J&K is being run by some persons who have their personal agenda without following the rules regulations and norms fixed neither during the election of Office bearers of Hockey J&K nor during the conduct of various Hockey tournaments in the State.
The elections for hockey J&K is held in closed doors without transparency and fully involving the J&K sports Council and the legacy of office functionaries to their next of kin who are not at all connected with hockey at all, presuming as their dynastic rights over the game of Hockey for the last more than twenty years.
The list of hockey players of 42 clubs, who participated in the voting process to elect the office bearers of hockey J&K is not notified ever before the conduct of such election and such serious lapse on the part of Hockey J&K is always being ignored by the officials of both J&K Sports council & Hockey India during conduct of election in hotel of their Choice, he said.
The selection process of players for different tournament is also not transparent as a result of which team sent outside the State have a pathetic display resulting humiliating defeat in the National tournament held at Rourkela Orissa.
In the recently held Junior National Hockey Tournament J&K hockey Team suffered humiliating defeat conceding 21 -0 against Himacha Pardesh, 13-1 Karnatka & 6-1 against Ponducherry.
We are enclosing herewith the documents received by our office directly from the complainant player, the copy of those complaints already stands submitted to Secretary Sports Council.
Balvinder urged the Secretary Sports Council to disband Hockey J&K and Constitute Committee of Hockey Veterans to look after its affairs till the fresh election is held and also take stern action immediately by removing the alleged accused so that they cannot influence the complainant and also urged to immediately forward the complaint to the law enforcing agency for taking appropriate legal action warranted under law for such cases of sexual harassment.
