Separatists meet stakeholders, say agitation to continue

STATE TIMES NEWS
Srinagar: The separatist camp on Tuesday announced that it will continue the agitation in the Valley after holding seven-hour consultations with “stakeholders” here to chalk out the future course of action.
“All the stakeholders in unison spoke about the (need for) continuation of the ongoing struggle. So we have decided to continue it,” Chairmen of both factions of Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik said in a joint address after the meeting.
They said this is the struggle of the people and it will continue as long as they support it.
“However, the people should demonstrate discipline and not fall prey to rumours,” they said.
The separatists said the stakeholders reposed faith in the “leadership” and have given their suggestions on how to carry forward the struggle.
“All the stakeholders expressed faith in the leadership while the leadership expressed faith in the people. We will not allow the sacrifices of people go in vain.
“Some stakeholders have given few suggestions, we will sit and incorporate those suggestions in our future strategy,” the separatists said.
They sought cooperation of the people to “take the struggle to its logical conclusion”.
The stakeholders who participated in the meeting include traders, educationists, transporters, civil society members, religious, social and political organisations and bar association.
