JAMMU: To raise the team for the upcoming 70th Senior National Kabaddi (men) Championship, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association shall hold three-day selection trials at Subash Stadium, Udhampur.
The trials shall be held from February 29 to March 2 from 3 pm onwards for the National event at Sports Complex, Wadia Park, Tilak Road, Ahmednagar in Maharashtra from March 21 to 24.
“We have made a new beginning with the sole aim to spread the game to districts other than Jammu and Srinagar. So, it has been decided to hold selection process for the senior men team at Udhampur,” informed General Secretary of the Association, Kuldeep Gupta.
The eligibility weight criteria for Men shall be 85 kg and below body weight with no restriction with regard to age.
Further, the affiliated districts and clubs of the UT have been asked to send their registered players including those from belt forces for trials.
The Association has advised the players to report the venue on given dates bringing along all the necessary documents, including Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India registration Card.
Those players belong to Belt Forces, posted within J&K, need to bring their Officer in Commanding authority letters.
The selection committee will be headed by Manik Sharma (NIS Kabaddi Coach), Ram Kumar (assistant coach) and Ankush Chib (National medallist). Karun Mangotra (district secretary, Udhampur) shall assist the selection committee.
