JAMMU: Senior journalist of Jammu and Kashmir and former bureau chief of AajTak in Jammu Ashwani Kumar lost his wife, Sunita Chandra, in New Delhi on Saturday (11 Jan.). Chandra breathed her last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on Saturday evening. She was 61. She is survived by Ashwani Kumar and their two daughters.
Chandra was unwell for last many months and was getting treated at the AIIMS. Chandra was a social worker and used to work with street children under the Pahal project of Damodar Sati Udyog Sanstha. She educated more than 2,000 children from the slum areas. These children were in Jammu from different parts of the country.
Last rites will be done in Jammu on Sunday, 12th January.
