JAMMU: Young Star and KSS Club won their respective matches to strengthen their position in the league round on the opening day of the Senior Hockey Tournament of Jammu District, organised by Hockey Jammu and Kashmir, at K K Hakku Stadium, here on Monday.
In the first match of the day, Young Star defeated Samba Club 4-1. Tanminder Singh (24th), Rakesh (28th), Anil (30th) and Manik Sharma (38th) were the scorers while Sourav Singh reduced the margin from Samba striking in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, in other scheduled match of the day, KSS Club trounced Vijaypur Warriors 3-0. Jaspreet Singh (5th), Harvinder Singh (15th) and Manmeet Singh (55th) were the scorers.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Satvir Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh and Manjeet Singh.
FIXTURE: MBS Club shall take on Ajit Club at 1:30 PM while Zorawar Club shall play against Kathua Hockey Club Lachipora at 2:30 PM tomorrow.
